Read Meta School Launches Ramadan 2026 Pre-Ramadan Programme
Read Meta School is delighted to announce the launch of its Ramadan 2026 Pre-Ramadan Programme, a carefully structured 30-day countdown designed to prepare students spiritually, emotionally, and educationally for the blessed month of Ramadan.
Beginning on Monday 19th January 2026, the programme will immerse students in meaningful learning experiences that nurture love for worship, strong character, gratitude, and community spirit.
This whole-school initiative brings together assemblies, themed classroom learning, creative projects, home-based activities, and virtual events — ensuring students enter Ramadan motivated, inspired, and prepared.
Themed In-Class Learning Across the Curriculum
Ramadan preparation will be embedded across key subjects, allowing students to explore the beauty and meaning of Ramadan through discussion, creativity, and reflection.
English
Students will take part in:
Guided discussions about the purpose of Ramadan
Creative writing such as “A Day in Ramadan”
Gratitude letters, reflective writing, and poetry
Persuasive and reflective pieces on kindness, charity, and good character
Art
Students will create Ramadan-inspired artwork including:
Crescent moons, lanterns, and mosque silhouettes
Islamic patterns and calligraphy
Charity posters and creative displays
Artwork featured in the Virtual Ramadan Exhibition
Islamic Studies
Led by the Islamic Department, sessions will focus on:
Understanding fasting, intentions, and worship
Character development (akhlaq), gratitude, and self-discipline
Spiritual preparation for Ramadan and the final ten nights
Age-appropriate reminders, stories, and open discussions
These lessons are designed to help students connect emotionally and spiritually with Ramadan, not only academically.
Special Guest Assembly
As part of the programme, students will benefit from a special whole-school virtual assembly delivered by an international guest speaker.
Shaykh Tim Humble, renowned Islamic educator based in the UAE, will address students on:

The session will focus on preparing hearts and character for Ramadan and promises to be a powerful and inspiring experience for students across the school.
Whole-School Student Competitions
To encourage creativity and engagement, several Ramadan competitions will run throughout the programme:
📝 Ramadan Poem Challenge – reflective and creative poetry about Ramadan
🏡 Ramadan Corner Challenge – home-based family Ramadan spaces
💌 Ramadan E-Card Competition – winning design shared with the community
🖥️ Ramadan Virtual Background Challenge – Google Meet backgrounds used across school sessions
Selected entries will be showcased in the Virtual Ramadan Exhibition.
Weekly Virtual Ramadan Meetups for the Whole School
Students and families will also be invited to attend weekly whole-school Ramadan Virtual Meetups, led by our Islamic Department Lead, Mr. Wasim.
Every Thursday leading up to Ramadan
Time: 2:45pm UK (GMT)
These sessions will include short reminders, reflections, and practical guidance to help families prepare together for Ramadan.
Parents will also be invited to the Virtual Ramadan Exhibition and a special Virtual Iftar Meet-Up later in the programme.
